Corteza Discovery – UI Prototype
Crust Technology, the leading open-source Low-Code Development platform and Salesforce alternative, is being funded through the NGI0 Discovery Fund to deliver Corteza Discovery. The objective of Corteza Discovery is to add the three pillars of local search, federated data search and global federated search to the Corteza user features in a seamless and familiar manner to users. The NGI0 Discovery Fund is a fund established by NLnet with financial support from the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet programme, under the aegis of DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology under grant agreement No 825322.
In this post the UI prototype you can find the UI Prototype, which includes high-fidelity wireframes of all user interface changes, within the new Corteza design.
UI Prototype
1. Exposing public data
In the low code platform, in the admin panel area, the administrator can mark fields he wants to expose to the public. Data stored in selected fields will be shown in the search results, using Searsia protocol. With a click on a search result, the user is redirected to a public layer in Corteza, where the content of all publicly marked fields to the selected module is presented.
Edit module – list of fields
Edit fields row – option to mark the field as public
2. App selector
The user lands on the app selector list where he can pick one of the available applications or user search input to search locally and globally across all the data in the system:

3. Search results
After the search option, the user lands on the search results page. By default, available filters on the left side offer an option to filter by an application (including all available low code configurations – namespaces) and by a module.

Modules in the federated network are highlighted with the “Federated” tag:

4. Advanced filtering
As the user selects at least one module, we update filters on the left dynamically and offer drill-down filtering options based on the available fields in the module.
For example: if the customer filters the “Account” module, we show additional filtering options based on that module (as shown in the screenshot below, the customer can filter out Account source, Industry and Contract Type).

5. Map view (optional)
Where applicable (when a record in the data module of the search results) include geo-location data, we present search results as pins on the map as well. The user has an option to show or hide a map view.

About NLnet foundation
The history of NLnet goes back to 1982 when a group of Europeans led by former NLnet director and member of the Internet Hall of Fame Teus Hagen announced the European Unix Network (EUnet) which became the first public wide area network in Europe and the place where internet was introduced to Europe. NLnet also pioneered the worlds first dial-in and ISDN infrastructure with full country coverage. In 1997 all commercial activities were sold to UUnet (now Verizon) and since that time NLnet has focussed on supporting the open internet, and the privacy and security of internet users. NLnet’s core business is to support independent organizations and people that contribute to an open information society. We provide microgrants, advice and access to an interesting global network we established over the years.
